Agra City Of Great Cultural And Historical Heritage

Agra

The beautiful city of Agra boasts of a great cultural and historical heritage. It is one of the most vibrant cities of India. Agra is situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It has a longstanding history of power struggle attached to its name. The city of grand monuments and palaces, of princes and paupers; Agra has a lot of visual delicacies to offer to its tourists. It was a power center during the beginning of the Modern Indian period; hence it is a perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal art, architecture and culture.

TAJ MAHAL

An iconic epitome of this kind of architecture is the great Indian monument, the Taj Mahal, which is known all across the world for its timeless beauty. Aptly described as the ‘symbol of love’ the Taj has been attracting tourists from all over the world since a very long time. It is said that every tourist must visit the Taj for an unforgettable experience of the incredible India.

AGRA FORT

Taj Mahal is not a standalone attraction. Agra is also known for another phenomenal example of great Mughal architecture, the Agra Fort, which is a massive red sandstone fort built by Emperor Akbar on the banks of the river Yamuna. It is one of the finest forts in the country. The fort was built primarily as a military structure, but Shah Jahan transformed it into a palace, and later it became his gilded prison for eight years after his son Aurangzeb seized power.

The city of Agra will surprise you with its various hues and colours of culture and tradition. The art of sandstone carving is still practiced here, and now you can purchase these creatively carved pieces of sandstones and adorn your homes with these fantastic chunks, depicting age old patterns and beautiful designs. Now carry a bit of Agra’s history with you, as you leave this place with everlasting memories.
We, at Abish Travels, organize trips to Agra, as a part of our Golden Triangle India Tours Package. We also provide you with a highly qualified tour guide in order to make your travel experience enriching and informative.

India Tourism

India Tourism
Debunking some of the common myths:
India is a funny country. It is a bundle of contrasts and contradictions; a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, it will definitely surprise the curious foreign eye with its myriad moods and various hues and colours. India’s quirky culture and traditions might seem bizarre at first but it is important to understand them completely in order to discard the unwanted myths that come attached with them. The beauty of the incredible India lies in its diversity.
Five of the most common myths about India are:
1)      India is highly dangerous especially for women: It is the most popular myth prevalent in the minds of people. India is a huge country with innumerable people; good, bad and ugly. It is true that India is not as safe as the European countries, but it would be totally wrong to assume that every Indian is either a rapist or a thug.  If you ever decide to let go of your apprehensions and give this country a chance, you will discover that Indians are some of the warmest and most cordial people in the world. You just need to exercise a bit of caution, especially if you are a female traveler traveling alone. Other than that, just be accommodating and compassionate and you will spend an excellent time in this incredible country.
2)      India is a poor country: India is a developing country with its own share of problems. True, there is economic disparity and you will see a few beggars here, but saying that India is chock full ‘o beggars is a completely false statement. India is a fast booming nation and the cities are on the rise, and it is so much more than mere dirt, filth and poverty.
3)       India has snakes roaming on the streets: This is the most absurd misconception people have about the Indian subcontinent. It all started when the British conquerors described India as the land of forgers, frauds and snake charmers. But don’t let this definition fool you. Snake charming is illegal in India and has been for a number of years. And there goes your dream of dancing with the snakes in this country!
4)      Cows roam the roads in India: This is the most common stereotype that has been haunting India and the Indians since decades; and it is true to a certain extent. It is not that uncommon to spot cows on the Indian terrain; in fact at some places you will see more cows on the street than people. Indians hold cows sacred and it’s a common custom to worship them, hence killing of cows is banned in the country. In order to immerse completely in the vibrancy of India, you need to share a bond of camaraderie with the cows! Without their approval, it becomes next to impossible to drive in India.
5)      Indian food is oily and unhealthy: Indian food is not just butter chicken and tandoori ‘loaded with butter’ naan. India is a diverse land and this diversity can easily be witnessed through food items. Starting from the mouth watering Kashmiri and Pahari dishes to rich and hearty Punjabi food; from the sweet Gujarati delicacies to tangy Madrasi Sambhar, India has innumerable delectable dishes to boast of. Each state has its own speciality, and Indians like all other people understand the importance of eating healthy!

India is unbelievable and incredible. It is always ready to mesmerize you with its colour and energy. A trip to India will surely enrich you with everlasting memories; it is an experience that should not be missed at any cost.
